The mission of this website is to provide complete information about the impending merger of Holy Saviour Parish in Westmont and St. John Parish in Collingswood, NJ.
Heavenly Father, you called the Israelites out of Egypt, into the desert to the Promised Land. Now you call us to leave the parishes we know to form a new community. Give us hope that our efforts will lead us to a welcoming and inclusive community. Jesus, You called Peter from the boat to walk with You on the water. Give us Faith to keep our eyes on You and walk with You to a stronger community of faith. [more]

Fr. Friel Reports on In his August 23 letter to parishioners, Fr. Ed Friel reports on mass times, staffing, facilities, and a much more for our new parish, Blessed Teresa Of Calcutta. Read it all here.
Our New Parish Named Bishop Galante made his decision known to Fr. Ed Friel on July 16 that our new parish name will be Blessed Teresa Of Calcutta Parish. Mother Teresa lived a simple life, committed to Jesus and service to the poor. Her compassion, and her advocacy for recognition of the sanctity of life, challenged the world to respect the importance of each and every human being. Our new parish, named after a newly beatified person, recognizes the commitment to the poor and needy that we as parishioners have demonstrated for many years. The Feast Day for Our Parish is September 5. Another special day this year is August 26, the centennial of Blessed Teresa's birth. When Bishop Galante issues the Decree establishing the new parish, he will announce the date when we can begin to use the new name. Read more about the naming process here.
Parish Boundaries Established The boundaries of the merged parish will be the culmination of the boundaries of the two parishes. A black and white map and a detailed description are both available.

Becoming a Catholic Information Night We invite you to come and explore the possibility of becoming a Catholic through the RCIA. The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process of welcoming people who want to be full members of the Catholic faith community. This includes those who have never been baptized; those baptized in other Christian denominations, and baptized Catholics who have not received First Eucharist or Confirmation. RCIA is not a "class" but rather a journey of faith. In the company of a group of faith-filled parishioners who serve as the RCIA team and with other people inquiring about the Church, and through experiences of prayer, faith-sharing, instruction, and discussion, you will have the opportunity to grow in your relationship with God as you discover how your faith could be nurtured within the Catholic tradition. If you would like to learn more about RCIA we would be happy to speak with you at any time. We also invite you to the Information Night so you can talk with members of our team about RCIA. Information Night: Tuesday September 7 at 7:00 pm at St. John's Parish Center. Please call Pat Lipperini at 858-4737 for more information Movie Reviews Saint of the Day |
